Danny Dyer, James Norton and Cynthia Erivo have been announced as the hosts for the next three episodes of the UK edition of Saturday Night Live (SNL).
Hosting line-up and musical guests
Rivals star Dyer will front the comedy show on October 10, joined by singer-songwriter Sasha Keable as the musical guest. Happy Valley star Norton will host on October 17, with The Streets providing music. Wicked star Erivo will lead the show on October 24, in an episode featuring rock band Blossoms.
The hosts are expected to open with a monologue and take part in skits throughout the 75-minute episode, following recent hosts such as comedian Jamie Demetriou and Chicken Shop Date presenter Amelia Dimoldenberg.
Dyer's return and Norton's credits
Dyer, 49, is known for playing Mick Carter in BBC soap EastEnders. Since leaving the show in 2022, he has been praised for dramatic roles including in Rivals. He recently won a Bafta TV Award for his role in comedy Mr Bigstuff and has appeared in films such as Human Traffic, The Football Factory and Marching Powder.
His hosting marks the return of SNL UK after a one-week pause. Norton has starred in TV dramas such as Happy Valley and Grantchester and appeared in films including Mr Jones and Little Women.
Erivo's episode and SNL UK background
The award-winning actress and singer starred alongside Ariana Grande in the film adaptation of Wicked and its sequel For Good, with both receiving Oscar nominations for the first film. Erivo will host while English indie band Blossoms feature as musical guest.
SNL made its UK debut on March 21 with an episode fronted by US actress Fey, former head writer and lead cast member of the US version. The Sky Original show follows NBC's late-night format with segments including an opening monologue, topical sketches and a UK version of The Weekend Update.
The show is broadcast live from London with a different host each week alongside cast members including Hammed Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye and Larry Dean. SNL UK returns on Sky and Now on October 10 at 10pm.
