Liam Payne's family and friends have raised a staggering £31,000 for a children's charity following his death. The late One Direction singer tragically fell from a hotel balcony in October 2024, aged 31, suffering fatal injuries.

The funds will go towards building a new children's cancer centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital. Liz Tait, the hospital's director of fundraising, expressed deep gratitude, saying: 'We're extremely touched and grateful for all the donations in memory of Liam, which will go towards building a brand new children's cancer centre at Great Ormond Street.'

An insider revealed that while Payne's loved ones are still reeling from the loss, there is solace in the impact of his legacy. Speaking to The Sun, they said: 'Everyone is still coming to terms with the tragic loss of Liam, but there is some comfort in knowing the legacy he leaves behind.'

Liam's funeral saw a star-studded turnout, including Cheryl Tweedy, Simon Cowell, and his former One Direction bandmates. The order of service encouraged donations to Great Ormond Street Hospital. Additionally, Odeon cinemas held a one-off screening of the 1D documentary 'This Is Us', with ticket revenue supporting mental health charities.
