Barry Manilow has offered fans a promising health update weeks after he announced his lung cancer diagnosis. The 82-year-old singer, known for hits like 'Copacabana', shared a smiling hospital selfie on Instagram on Friday, following surgery to remove a cancerous spot from his left lung.
The post was met with an outpouring of support from fans. One commented: 'ALRIGHT! 2026 starting off right with this post!' while another wrote: 'You don’t know how wonderful it is to wake up to this pic!! Been so worried about you!!!!'
Last month, Manilow revealed his diagnosis on Instagram, explaining that an MRI had discovered the spot after a prolonged bout of bronchitis. He noted that doctors believed the cancer had not spread and that he would not require chemotherapy or radiation, only surgery.
As a result of the procedure, Manilow rescheduled all his January concert dates. He expressed regret for the inconvenience but looked forward to returning to the stage at the Westgate Las Vegas for Valentine’s Day concerts, calling it 'one big party'.
Manilow’s career spans over six decades, with more than 30 studio albums and iconic hits including 'Mandy', 'Can’t Smile Without You', and 'Copacabana'. Fans continue to send well-wishes for his recovery.
