A seventeen-year-old boy has been handed a life sentence for the brutal murder of sixteen-year-old Harvey Willgoose, who was stabbed to death in a South London park in a shocking act of youth violence that has devastated the local community.

The fatal attack occurred on September 17, 2023, in Church Lane, Tooting, when Harvey was ambushed by the defendant who emerged from bushes armed with a large knife. The court heard how the assailant, who cannot be named for legal reasons, launched a vicious and unprovoked attack on the schoolboy.
Emergency services rushed to the scene following multiple 999 calls, but despite their best efforts, Harvey succumbed to his injuries. The Old Bailey trial revealed the attack was captured on CCTV, showing the defendant lying in wait before launching the fatal assault.
