Popular YouTuber Brandon Buckingham has made a desperate plea to his online followers after being diagnosed with multiple organ failure, leaving him fighting for his life and concerned for his young family's future.
A Shocking Health Diagnosis
The 30-year-old influencer, known for his documentary-style content, shared an emotional video from his hospital bed on Saturday 22nd November 2025. In a heartfelt caption, he wrote: "I almost died and I need your help." Buckingham disclosed that he is suffering from acute systolic heart failure, kidney failure, and liver failure, with doctors yet to identify the root cause.
The health crisis began when Buckingham woke up last week completely deaf and disorientated, with no memory of his whereabouts. He was immediately rushed to hospital for emergency treatment. Initially, medical professionals suspected tuberculosis, but this was subsequently ruled out.
The Dire Financial Situation
Buckingham revealed the gravity of his condition, stating that only 15 to 20% of his heart is currently functional. His lungs, liver and kidneys remain in "very rough shape," according to his GoFundMe description. The young father expressed deep concern about his ability to provide for his wife and their 11-month-old baby.
"I don't know what's going to happen to me, but I know for sure if I do survive, it will be a very long recovery, and I will not be able to provide for my family for at least several months if things go well," Buckingham wrote. His recovery is expected to require two to four months of bedrest following his hospital discharge.
The medical emergency has already resulted in over $100,000 in medical debt, and doctors have indicated he will likely need heart medication for the rest of his life.
Overwhelming Community Support
Just two days before his detailed hospital bed video, Buckingham sent a chilling message to his followers on X: "In the ICU, my heart is failing, my lungs are failing, my liver and kidneys are failing. Things are not looking good my friends. I love you guys."
The response from his 1.2 million YouTube subscribers and wider social media following has been immediate and substantial. By Sunday afternoon, 23rd November, his GoFundMe campaign had raised over $230,000, demonstrating the power of digital community support during times of crisis.
Buckingham acknowledged the outpouring of support, writing: "I don't like to ask you guys for anything but I am in a dire situation and this is my only option. I've created a GoFundMe to help my family and I in this trying time – god bless everyone who has sent kind messages I really appreciate it."
