TOWIE Star Chloe Lewis Details Son's Finger Amputation After Ice Rink Accident

Chloe Lewis, the former TOWIE star, has shared a devastating health update regarding her six-year-old son, Beau, who lost part of his finger in a tragic ice skating accident on New Year's Eve. Appearing on Good Morning Britain this Wednesday, the 35-year-old mother recounted the harrowing incident and her subsequent campaign to change safety laws for children at ice rinks.

The Accident and Its Aftermath

Last month, Chloe revealed that Beau suffered a freak accident while ice skating, where another skater's blade sliced off his finger. She received a frantic call and drove an hour to reach him, only to find that an ambulance had not yet arrived. After a 1.5-hour wait, they were taken to A&E, where a plastic surgeon delivered the grim news that the reattachment might not succeed.

Chloe recalled, 'When we got there, the plastic surgeon pulled me aside and had the chat with me that maybe the finger won't survive. I didn't really think that it was going to be the case, I thought they were just going to reattach it and it would be fine.' Tragically, the finger did not survive, and Beau has lost the top half of his finger.

Beau's Resilience and Chloe's Advocacy

Despite the trauma, Beau has shown remarkable strength. Chloe shared, 'He's good bless him. He's been amazing. Kids are quite resilient aren't they? He's six years old, it hasn't really bothered him that much.' She added that he has returned to school, excited to show his friends his injury, and has been more concerned about comforting his mother during the ordeal.

Chloe is now channeling her grief into advocacy, launching a petition to make it compulsory for children to wear protective gloves while ice skating. She explained, 'I can't bring back his finger, I'm hoping that it is not going to bother him in secondary school, which can happen. People can be horrible to people. So for me it's more that one day hopefully I can tell him we changed the law.'

The Petition and Broader Implications

The petition, which requires 100,000 signatures to be considered for a parliamentary debate, aims to prevent similar accidents. Chloe detailed the incident on Instagram in February, describing how Beau fell and a skater ran over his finger with bladed skates. She wrote about the emotional toll, stating, 'It's completely broke me & still to this day I can't believe it's happened.'

Chloe and her ex-partner, Danny Flasher, split in 2023 after seven years together, having welcomed Beau in 2019. Her campaign highlights a critical gap in safety regulations at recreational facilities, urging parents and policymakers to prioritize child protection in sports activities.
