Katie Price has raised fresh health concerns after admitting she is addicted to vaping. The former glamour model posted a graphic X-ray of a diseased lung on her Instagram stories, warning that vaping has been linked to rare and irreversible lung disease, and adding: 'I have to stop.'
The 46-year-old's family are particularly worried given the history of lung disease in her family. Her mother Amy, 73, has been battling terminal Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) for several years and underwent a lung transplant in 2022. A source said: 'Katie needs to stop for health reasons and, obviously, her family members have been very worried.'
Katie's boyfriend, former Married At First Sight contestant JJ Slater, is said to be especially concerned but feels unable to help the strong-willed star. 'JJ is concerned about her, but there's only so much he can do,' the source added. 'Katie's under severe stress and just has one thing after another to contend with.'
This is not the first time Katie's vaping has caused alarm. In October 2023, her sister Sophie pleaded with her to stop during an episode of their podcast. In November 2024, she sparked outrage by vaping on a train, despite it being banned on most rail networks. In March this year, she was pictured vaping in front of her four-month-old niece, and two months ago, fans claimed she was vaping on stage during a live show.
Katie has previously attempted to quit, suggesting vaping may have caused one of her teeth to fall out. 'I swear it is the vape because I put it here – it's on the tooth that came out,' she said on her podcast. However, the source said stress continues to drive her habit: 'Whenever she's feeling stressed, she reaches for the vape.'
