Josie Gibson Returns to This Morning to Discuss Lipedema Diagnosis
Josie Gibson Returns to This Morning After Thailand Break

ITV's This Morning is set to welcome back a beloved face this week, as presenter Josie Gibson confirms her return to the sofa following a sun-soaked holiday and a studio relocation for the flagship daytime show.

A Heartwarming Announcement and a New Era

On Wednesday evening, the 40-year-old broadcaster shared the news with her followers on social media. Josie Gibson will be back on screen this Thursday, 15th January 2026, marking her first appearance since the programme moved from its long-standing home at Television Centre to brand new premises at the start of the year.

In her post, Josie promised to deliver travel tips from her recent luxurious getaway to Thailand, but highlighted the main reason for her return. She wrote that she would be discussing lipedema and the steps she has taken to manage the condition. Alongside her announcement, she posted an adorable throwback video of herself with her young son, Reggie, in the old studios, playfully teaching him how to be a presenter.

Raising Awareness for a Little-Known Condition

Fans were quick and enthusiastic in their response, expressing delight at her return and gratitude for her decision to talk about lipedema. The condition, defined by the NHS as an abnormal build-up of fat in the legs and sometimes arms which can be painful, remains relatively unknown to many.

One supporter shared their personal connection, commenting: "So pleased you're talking about Lipoedema. I have just found out I have it too... I am really interested to see what you have been doing to help yours." Another praised Josie for using her platform to raise awareness, hoping it would lead to greater understanding and support from the NHS.

A Candid Journey Shared with Viewers

This week, Josie has been openly discussing her diagnosis, which she received last year. In a recent and brave social media post, she shared a video of herself working out at a gym in Thailand, acknowledging her ongoing battle.

"The fight is real as my body retains fat unlike a normal body should," she confessed. Josie explained she had increased her exercise regime, sharing a circuit she completed, and encouraged others by stating, "Gyms can be intimidating sometimes, but we are all there for the same reason."

Josie Gibson first joined This Morning in 2019 as a competition presenter and has since become a familiar co-host alongside the likes of Craig Doyle and Dermot O'Leary. Her return this Thursday promises not only a warm welcome back but also an important and personal conversation about health.

This Morning airs on ITV and is available to stream on ITVX.
