Dante Valentín Bermudes Rumi was at home with his mother, Aylin Saucedo, when he suddenly began struggling to breathe. In a state of panic, Aylin rushed to a neighbour for assistance before driving her son to Dr Federico Abete Hospital. Despite frantic efforts, Dante was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at the medical facility.

Aylin Saucedo, who works as a manicurist, described the traumatic events to Argentinian media. "My son died on March 21," she said. "We were at home and I realised he couldn't breathe. I ran to my neighbour's place to ask for help but there was nothing she was able to do."
"Then my aunt arrived and the same thing, so I put Dante in the car and we drove to hospital. It probably took me about 10 minutes in total. My son was dead when we arrived," the grieving mother explained through her distress.

Following the tragedy, police were called to Dr Federico Abete Hospital where the baby's father allegedly assaulted Aylin, her new partner, and her father.
