Hair loss treatment that actually works: Hair+Me review
Hair loss treatment that actually works: Hair+Me review

Beauty columnist Sali Hughes, 51 and perimenopausal, has found a hair-loss treatment that works: Hair+Me, a £34.99 monthly subscription service staffed by clinicians who dispense proven hair-loss medications. After two months, she reports new hair is visibly growing.

The subscription service and medications

Hair+Me provides treatments such as Minoxidil, prescribed across genders, and Finasteride and Dutasteride, for biological men only, in tablet or ointment form. Hughes signed up after testing many products and finding no column-worthy results. She had previously recommended the service to her best friend, Cait, who stopped hair-washing after seeing large clumps on the shower floor. Cait signed up, uploaded photos, and within a couple of weeks baby hairs formed and shedding slowed to normal.

Hughes' personal results and side effects

Despite her different base level—her hair has always been thin and flat—Hughes' trajectory on Hair+Me and Minoxidil has been identical. After two months, new hair is visibly growing, including on her chin, a common side-effect she manages with tweezing. Two other friends who followed her advice also saw results.

Real help vs. dubious products

Hughes stresses this is not medical advice but evidence-backed help, unlike rosemary shampoos and dubious tech gadgets promoted online. She notes the same treatment may be available free via a GP if sympathetic, but with appointment times shaved to the bone, a paid subscription may save time and tears. She adds that anxiety around hair loss is not a frivolous problem, and even friends who rarely use moisturiser have found age-related thinning their line in the sand, opting to shed the guilt, not the hair.
