Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts has shared joyous news, announcing she is expecting her first child with her fiancé, footballer Mitch Hahn.
A Magical Christmas Announcement
The 39-year-old pop star, originally from Runcorn, made the exciting revelation on social media on Christmas Day 2025. She explained that she and Mitch, 36, had spent the day sharing the "precious news" with their families. Roberts confirmed she is five months pregnant, with the baby due to arrive in the spring.
"Mitch and I have had the most magical Christmas Day sharing the most precious news with our families," she wrote. "We’ve been keeping a secret. We are five months pregnant! We can’t wait to meet our little one in the spring."
Celebrity Well-Wishes and Bandmate Bonds
Fellow celebrities swiftly flooded the comments section with congratulations. Former Love Island host Laura Whitmore called it "the best news," while singer Jessie Ware and former Coronation Street actress Alexandra Mardell also sent their love.
The announcement means all four surviving members of Girls Aloud are now mothers. Roberts' bandmates have children: Cheryl shares son Bear, eight, with Liam Payne; Nadine Coyle has daughter Anaíya, 11, with Jason Bell; and Kimberley Walsh is a mother to three sons with Justin Scott.
Roberts has also planned to honour her late bandmate, Sarah Harding, who died from breast cancer in September 2021. A source previously indicated Nicola intends to pay a special tribute to Sarah during her wedding celebrations.
From Private Romance to Growing Family
Nicola Roberts and Mitch Hahn, a former professional footballer for Southend United and Grays Athletic who captained Team GB to gold at the 2019 Maccabi European Games, confirmed their relationship in June 2022. They went public while attending an Elton John concert in Hyde Park.
The couple got engaged last year, with Mitch reportedly proposing during a holiday in the South of France. Roberts appeared to confirm the engagement while wearing a ring during Girls Aloud's final performance at Brighton Pride. A source told The Sun at the time: "Nicola has met her soulmate in Mitch. She couldn't be happier."
The pair's happy news comes eight months after they announced their engagement and follows the hugely successful Girls Aloud reunion tour last year. The band performed 30 concerts to raise funds for The Sarah Harding Breast Cancer Appeal, of which they are all patrons.
