Social media influencer Lottie Tomlinson and her fiancé, former tennis player Lewis Burton, were the picture of doting parents during a charming family outing in London this weekend.
A Paddington-Inspired Family Adventure
The couple, who are parents to two-year-old son Lucky and ten-month-old daughter Flossie Grace, treated their little ones to The Paddington Bear Experience on Sunday. Lottie, 27, channelled the famous bear's style in a cosy tan teddy bear coat, which she paired with practical black leggings and boots for the immersive event.
Lewis, 33, kept it casual in a comfortable grey tracksuit, while their son Lucky stole hearts by sporting a pair of adorable Paddington ears, fully embracing the theme of the day.
Motherhood as a Path to Healing
This joyful family scene comes after Lottie has spoken candidly about how becoming a parent herself has helped her cope with profound personal losses. Lottie was just 18 years old when her mother, Johannah Deakin, died from leukaemia in 2016. Tragedy struck again just three years later when her younger sister, Félicité, passed away from an accidental drug overdose.
Now a mother of two, Lottie has shared how this role has brought her comfort and healing. In a recent interview, she revealed that becoming a 'comfort blanket' for her children has helped mend a part of her that had been grieving since her mother's death.
'I think the most rewarding part is definitely, I just love being their everything,' Lottie told Daily Mail. 'You know, being that person who is their comfort blanket. It's such a nice feeling as a mum and as a parent to have that, and I think it definitely heals part of me that you know, I've grieved since losing my mum, now that I'm a mum myself.'
Navigating the Challenges of Parenthood
Despite the immense joy her children bring, Lottie is open about the realities of parenting, including experiencing the common but challenging feeling of 'mum guilt.' She admitted that the constant desire to do the absolute best for her children can be difficult to manage at times.
'The most challenging I find is the guilt, the mum guilt that comes with it and the worry,' she explained. 'I think you want to do the absolute best for your kids, and that's where it stems from... and yeah, just the general worry that comes with having kids, you just want them to always be safe, always be happy, (and) always be healthy.'
The couple, who began dating in August 2020 and are now engaged, announced the birth of their daughter Flossie Grace in January of this year. Lottie shared the happy news on Instagram with a black-and-white photo of her son Lucky peering into his newborn sister's cot, captioning it: 'Our little angel has arrived and she's perfect in every way.'
