Former reality television star Lo Bosworth has joyfully announced the arrival of her first child, a baby girl, this week. The 39-year-old, best known for her role in MTV's Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County and its spin-off The Hills, shared the happy news with fans on Instagram.
A Joyful Arrival for the New Family
Bosworth revealed that her daughter, named Nelle, arrived two weeks earlier than expected. "She started the year by surprising us two weeks early, but really, she was right on time," the new mother wrote in her social media post. The announcement was accompanied by a tender photo of the swaddled newborn and a picture of Bosworth with her husband, athlete-turned-investor Dom Natale, in hospital gowns before the delivery.
In her caption, Bosworth explained the meaningful choice of name, writing that her "teeny one is named for her Oma" – using the Dutch word for grandmother. She signed off the message, "More to come! Love, The Natale Family." The couple married in an intimate ceremony last July, just six months after Natale's proposal in January, and Bosworth publicly revealed her pregnancy shortly after the wedding.
From Reality TV Star to Motherhood
Lo Bosworth was catapulted to fame as a 17-year-old high school senior on Laguna Beach in 2004. The show's success led to the even more prominent The Hills, where Bosworth became one of the defining glamour figures of early reality TV alongside castmates like Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari. Conrad was among the first to congratulate Bosworth, commenting warmly on her Instagram post.
Since The Hills ended in 2010, Bosworth has deliberately stepped away from reality television. She built a successful career as a YouTuber with her own beauty channel and declined to participate in the 2018 reboot, The Hills: New Beginnings. She has maintained a friendship with Conrad but kept her distance from the franchise that made her famous.
The Journey to Parenthood
The couple's path to parenthood involved in vitro fertilization (IVF) during their engagement. Bosworth chose to wait until a few days after their wedding to announce the pregnancy. The ceremony itself was held at her family's home in Laguna Beach, a plan she said became perfect once their family plans were underway.
Bosworth and Natale met "a few years" ago after she declared herself single on Instagram, prompting Natale's sisters to privately message her about their brother. "His family set us up," Bosworth shared in a podcast interview last July. Following a "spur-of-the-moment engagement party" at a dive bar after the proposal, the couple focused on building their family, leading to this week's joyful announcement of baby Nelle's birth.
