The social media community is in mourning after the tragic death of influencer Pyari Maryam, who passed away shortly after giving birth. Her husband, Ahsan Ali, announced the devastating news on her Instagram Stories on Thursday.
Husband's Heartbreaking Announcement
In a statement translated to English and shared via Us Weekly, Ahsan Ali wrote: 'Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return. Dear Maryam has passed away.' He requested prayers, adding: 'Everyone is requested to pray that may Allah, the Lord of Honor, forgive her and elevate her ranks.' The post was accompanied by crying and praying hands emojis, along with two poignant photos of Maryam.
One image showed Maryam smiling softly in a hijab, while another depicted her lying in a hospital bed wearing a gown, with what appeared to be a ventilator tube taped to her mouth. The couple had been open about her health struggles in recent months, posting a video in August titled 'Need Prayers For My Health' and another last month referencing the impending arrival of their babies.
Twin Boys Reported Safe
In a follow-up post, Ali shared a photo of his newborn twin sons, their faces covered by heart emojis, lying side-by-side in teddy bear-patterned pyjamas. He confirmed that both babies were 'completely safe' and urged followers to avoid spreading false rumours while continuing to pray for Maryam.
The couple were popular content creators across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, where their most recent video was posted just 11 days prior. The video's comment section has since been flooded with tributes from devastated fans expressing their shock and grief.
A Second Tragedy in Months
Maryam's death comes just over two months after another influencer, nutritionist Stacey Warnecke, died following childbirth on September 29. Warnecke experienced an 'extremely rare complication' after a home birth but was able to hold her newborn son, Axel, for a few moments before her death, as reported by her husband Nathan.
These consecutive tragedies have cast a sombre light on maternal health risks, even as the digital community rallies to support the bereaved families left behind.
