Reality TV star Charlotte Dawson has shared the distressing news that she had to rush her two-year-old son, Jude, to hospital this week.
A Family Emergency
The 32-year-old mother-of-three, who is engaged to rugby league player Matt Sarsfield, 34, took to Instagram on Tuesday to reveal the family had endured a "horrendous week". She posted a poignant photograph of little Jude in a hospital bed, wearing a nasal cannula to aid his breathing.
Dawson explained that the toddler had taken a "horrible turn" on Monday night while she was in London. She immediately cancelled all her commitments to return to him. "Thank God for daddy and grandad last night and today," she wrote, expressing her gratitude for their support. She added that she was hoping he would be discharged soon.
Motherhood Struggles and Online Cruelty
While the specific reason for Jude's hospital admission was not disclosed, this incident comes at a challenging time for Dawson. The daughter of comedy legend Les Dawson has recently spoken openly about the pressures of parenting three young children, including baby daughter Gigi, born in March, and four-year-old Noah.
In a recent appearance on the Naughty Corner podcast, she confessed to feeling "really low" and constantly upset. She attributed part of her distress to the "awful" and cruel comments she frequently receives online. "I'm trying to make a difference," she said, while pleading for more kindness from social media users.
Future Family Plans
Despite the current difficulties, Dawson's love for her family remains clear. In an interview with OK! magazine after Gigi's birth, she hinted that she might not be done expanding her family. "I say this is my last baby – but never say never. I love babies. I love being a mum. It's tough, but it's the best," she stated.
However, she did admit that her romantic life with fiancé Matt has taken a back seat amidst the chaos of raising three young children. The couple have not had a date night for a while, prioritising their kids' needs. Dawson is optimistic that once their eldest starts school and a routine is established, they will be able to rekindle their spark.
