Former Love Island star Amy Hart has opened up about a frightening health scare that led to her being rushed to hospital during her second pregnancy. The 32-year-old reality television personality shared details of the worrying incident from her hospital bed, revealing she became concerned after noticing a significant change in her unborn baby's movements.
A Terrifying Ordeal for the Expectant Mother
Amy Hart candidly told her Instagram followers about the alarming experience that prompted immediate medical attention. The pregnant star admitted she initially hesitated about whether to seek help, questioning if she might be overreacting or becoming a nuisance to healthcare professionals. However, she ultimately decided to contact her maternity triage service and was promptly invited to the hospital for urgent assessment.
The health scare carries particular emotional weight for Amy and her husband Sam Rason, 38, as the couple have previously suffered two heartbreaking miscarriages. This difficult history made the recent scare especially traumatic as they prepare to welcome their second child together.
Important Advice for Expectant Mothers
Sharing her experience on social media, Amy offered crucial advice to other pregnant women. She wrote: "Just a reminder that if your movement changes at all call the triage!! With Stanley [her first child] I had no pattern at all and an anterior placenta so was always unsure if I was over reacting and being a nuisance so sometimes would leave it 2/3 (or 4) days and then get reminded I should have called earlier!"
She continued with specific details about her current pregnancy: "This time I feel lots even though I have a front placenta again and have more of a pattern so when it changed today I called up and was invited straight in."
Positive Outcome and Recovery
Thankfully, medical tests revealed no serious issues with Amy's pregnancy. She reported that both she and her baby are doing well, with medical staff detecting a strong heartbeat during monitoring. In characteristic upbeat fashion, Amy even managed to complete most of her makeup for work while waiting on hold during the hospital process.
In a follow-up message on her Instagram Stories, Amy expressed gratitude for the supportive messages she received and provided further explanation about her experience. "The midwives could hear massive movements on the machine but I felt nothing so I'm guessing the baby has moved behind my placenta," she explained. "Have had some more normal movements today so that's less stressful!"
Looking Forward to Motherhood Again
Amy also shared positive updates about her recovery and preparations for the new arrival. "Have also started my iron tablets and I feel so much better," she revealed. "This weekend we're building the cot (and my new Pilates reformer) so it's ready just in case!"
The television personality originally announced her pregnancy back in November, expressing both excitement and understandable anxiety given her previous pregnancy losses. At the time, she shared: "Sam & I are over-the-moon to share…we’re expecting again. This time the journey has been longer. After two heartbreaking miscarriages in the last year, we’re both very excited, yet the anxiety and nerves are hard to settle."
Amy's experience highlights the importance of trusting maternal instincts during pregnancy and seeking medical advice without hesitation when concerns arise about fetal movements. Her openness about both the scare and her previous pregnancy losses provides valuable support and awareness for other women navigating similar journeys.
