Golden Globe-nominated actor Liev Schreiber was urgently admitted to a New York hospital after being struck by an intense and sudden headache, sparking concerns for his health.
Emergency Hospital Admission
The 58-year-old Ray Donovan star experienced what he described as a 'massive' headache, prompting him to contact his doctor. Following medical advice, Schreiber was rushed to the hospital for an immediate and thorough evaluation.
Upon arrival, he underwent a full battery of medical tests as physicians worked to pinpoint the cause of his alarming symptoms. Early assessments have provided some reassurance, confirming that the actor remains fully conscious, responsive, and is able to speak clearly.
Positive Signs and Medical History
Medical staff confirmed that Schreiber can walk without difficulty and has normal movement in all of his limbs. This has led doctors to confidently rule out a stroke or any major neurological impairment at this stage.
However, this is not the first puzzling medical episode for the performer. He has previously spoken about a frightening incident of transient global amnesia that struck while he was on Broadway. During that event, he suffered a powerful headache backstage and temporarily lost his memory, even forgetting his lines and the play he was in.
An MRI scan at that time ruled out more serious causes like a stroke or brain bleed, and his memory fully returned by the next morning.
Ongoing Monitoring and Family Support
Doctors are continuing to monitor Schreiber closely as they await the full results of his tests. It is not yet known if this severe headache is connected to his previous episode of transient global amnesia, a condition sometimes associated with migraines.
The father-of-three has his family by his side, including his wife, Taylor Neisen, and his two older children from his previous relationship with actress Naomi Watts.
