Model and television personality Christine McGuinness has revealed she spent part of Christmas Eve in hospital with her 12-year-old daughter.
Christmas Eve Emergency Dash
The mother-of-three shared the worrying news with her followers on Instagram, explaining she had to take her daughter, Penelope, to Accident and Emergency. The hospital visit occurred at 6pm on 24 December 2025, dramatically altering the family's festive plans.
In a reassuring post, Christine wrote that thankfully, Penelope was okay and urged fans not to worry. She also took a moment to express her gratitude to the medical staff working over the holiday period.
"Luckily, Thank God, my Penelope is ok. Please do not worry," she stated. "Sending a big thank you to all of the doctors and nurses working over Christmas and looking after us, making sure we got home in time for Santa."
A Hectic Festive Period
In a separate update, Christine McGuinness gave further insight into her chaotic last 24 hours leading up to Christmas Day. She described the period as "eventful," listing a series of disruptions beyond the hospital dash.
These incidents included a flooded bathroom, last-minute shopping, and wrapping presents past midnight. Despite the stress, she shared a reflective and empathetic message with her audience.
"Remembering that Christmas looks different for everyone!" she wrote. "However Christmas meets you this year, I hope there are small glimmers of joy in your day."
A Message of Hope and Reflection
The former wife of TV presenter Paddy McGuinness, with whom she shares three children, extended her thoughts to those finding the season difficult. Her message acknowledged the full spectrum of festive experiences.
She expressed sympathy for "those who are alone or grieving," while also celebrating others who were "welcoming new love, new babies, and new dreams." Christine concluded by wishing everyone a "wonderful, magical, peaceful Christmas."
The family, including twins Penelope and Leo, and daughter Felicity, were able to return home from hospital in time for Christmas morning celebrations.
