Aitch's I'm A Celeb Mission: Raising Down's Syndrome Awareness for Sister Gracie
Aitch's I'm A Celeb mission for sister Gracie

As rapper Aitch enters the I'm A Celebrity jungle, his mission extends far beyond winning the reality show. The Manchester-born artist has declared that his primary motivation is to use the massive platform to raise awareness for Down's Syndrome, a cause deeply personal to him because of his younger sister, Gracie.

The Unbreakable Sibling Bond

Behind the Brit Awards and chart-topping hits, Harrison 'Aitch' Armstrong, 25, is fiercely grounded by his family, particularly his twin sisters, Hattie and Gracie. During the Pride of Britain judging day, when asked to name his heroes, Aitch didn't hesitate to name them both.

He shared that Gracie is his hero for being an 'absolute soldier' who 'lights up every room she walks in.' He also praised Hattie, a budding superstar in her own right, for how she has handled Gracie's situation. Their bond is a cornerstone of his life, keeping him level despite his meteoric rise to fame.

A Career Dedicated to Advocacy

Aitch's love for Gracie, who has Down's syndrome, has profoundly shaped his career. In 2022, he released the single 'My G' featuring Ed Sheeran as a heartfelt tribute to her. All profits from the track were donated to the Down’s Syndrome Association (DSA), for which Aitch now serves as an official ambassador.

The song's video opened with a touching message dedicated to Gracie, telling her she has the 'biggest heart in the world.' His commitment didn't stop there. Earlier this year, the rapper undertook a formidable challenge, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to raise funds. The expedition was a huge success, generating over £120,000 for the charity.

The Jungle Calling

Now, as he faces bushtucker trials, Aitch sees the I'm A Celebrity jungle as the perfect stage to amplify his cause. He stated, "On an Aitch level, I feel like I have got this calling to raise awareness for Down syndrome and I feel that’s the perfect place."

He knows his biggest fan will be watching, adding, "My sister, Gracie loves it. She will be sitting there cheering me on every time she sees me on the telly." For Aitch, the journey is about more than survival; it's about using his spotlight to create a more inclusive world for people like his hero, Gracie.
