Just days after the dramatic conclusion of Married At First Sight UK's tenth season, contestant Nelly Patel has swiftly returned to her normal life and profession as a cosmetic dentist.
From TV Drama to the Dentist's Chair
The E4 star confirmed her return to work during an Instagram Q&A with fans, held on November 19, 2025. When asked if it was difficult to resume her career after the intense experience on the reality show, Nelly's response was unequivocally positive.
She expressed her love for being back, specifically mentioning her workplace, @kissdentaluk, whom she described as 'like family'. Nelly also stated she had 'missed being an actual dentist and treating my patients', signalling a welcome return to routine and professional fulfilment.
A Rocky On-Screen Marriage
Nelly's journey on the popular Channel 4 programme was far from smooth. Her televised marriage to Steven Springett was marked by a series of explosive rows, which ultimately led to their joint exit from the social experiment.
The relationship deteriorated further when it was revealed that Steven had been accused of using a dating app during their marriage. This was compounded by the later disclosure of his incriminating texts to fellow co-star, Julia-Ruth, at the girls' reunion, which left Nelly heartbroken.
During the two-part reunion special, Steven claimed his pursuit of Julia-Ruth was an attempt to hurt his former bride, a statement which Nelly firmly stood her ground against.
Life After MAFS UK
Since the series concluded and her frosty parting with Steven, Nelly appears to be moving forward positively. Her social media activity has included a series of pointed posts that fans interpret as digs at her former partner.
In one video, she is seen diving fully-clothed into a swimming pool, captioned: 'Jump in the pool fully clothed or get back with your ex husband.' Other posts have featured themes of intuition and self-trust, with one statement reading: 'A woman’s intuition is powerful. Trust your gut, trust what you feel, don’t second-guess yourself.'
The tenth season of Married At First Sight UK is now available to stream for free on Channel 4's catch-up service. Of all the couples from the series, only latecomers Abigail Lindsay and John Shepherd are confirmed to still be together today, following a flurry of post-reunion break-up announcements from the rest of the cast.
