Hunter Survives Grizzly Attack in Canadian Rockies

On August 24th 2017, hunter Jeremy Evans was tracking a Bighorn Ram in the rugged alpine slopes of Alberta, Canada, when he spotted a bear cub just ten feet away. Knowing a mother grizzly would be close, he frantically searched his pack for bear spray but was too late.

An enormous grizzly charged from the bush, and Evans threw his bike at the bear before climbing a tree. The bear caught his dangling right leg, clamping its jaws behind his knee. 'I just remember looking down as she's bringing my right leg into her mouth... I remember seeing her and just thinking: This is going to hurt,' Evans recalled on the Real Survival Stories podcast.

Despite the severe injury, Evans managed to escape and survive the attack. His story is featured on BBC Sounds' Real Survival Stories series, highlighting his resourcefulness and will to live.
