A horrific incident in Thailand has left a Buddhist monk dead after a vicious attack by a swarm of killer bees. The 76-year-old victim, identified as Phra Sangwahn, was meditating in the temple grounds when the aggressive insects descended upon him.
According to reports, the monk suffered more than 100 stings during the brutal assault. Despite being rushed to hospital, he tragically succumbed to his injuries the following day.
Temple Tragedy
The shocking attack occurred at Wat Pha Son Kaew temple in the Loei province, where the elderly monk was performing his daily meditation routine. Fellow monks described hearing screams before discovering their colleague covered in bees.
Deadly Swarm
Local authorities believe the aggressive Asian honey bees may have been disturbed by recent construction work near their hive. These insects are known for their defensive nature when provoked.
Emergency services attempted to save the monk, but the sheer number of stings proved fatal. Hospital staff reported venom-induced complications led to multiple organ failure.
