A woman from Carmarthenshire has credited her pet dog with saving her life after she began choking on a sweet. Rachel Hayes, 40, from Drefach Felindre, was at home alone when the incident occurred.
Her springer spaniel, Mollypops, reacted instinctively by repeatedly bashing her in the back until the sweet dislodged. Ms Hayes said she was grateful for the dog's quick actions, as there was no one else around to help.
Speaking to BBC Radio 5 live's Drive, Ms Hayes said: 'I'm living alone so there's nobody that could help me... it was only thanks to Mollypops I'm here to tell the story.'
She rewarded the canine hero with a squeaky chicken toy and some doggy treats. Ms Hayes described the dog as her 'little hero'.
