Ant, a Bennett's wallaby that escaped from Tiny Steps Petting Farm near Bourne in Lincolnshire on 5 January, was finally caught on Sunday after evading recapture three times.
Owner Tracy Hall reported that the marsupial, named after TV presenter Ant McPartlin, was found "happy and unfazed" in a cage placed in nearby woodland. He is expected to be reunited with his companion, Dec, later this week after a veterinary check-up.
In a Facebook post, Hall said: "Great news... Ant is finally home, safe and sound! While checking the feeding stations this morning, Ant was found in the cage, very calm and not particularly phased by it."
Following two days of rest and separation, Ant will be examined by a vet on Tuesday before being reintroduced to Dec. However, Hall noted that the paddock fencing has been reinforced, as Ant's extended freedom has made him stronger and potentially more determined to escape again.
