Dog 'part panda' searching for new home after family got bored

Panda, a black-and-white Griffon mix, is looking for a new home after being found living in a yard with a family who no longer wanted her. The approximately 12-month-old dog was facing the possibility of being returned to the streets before being rescued by Greek Stray ResQ.

Her unusual colouring and coat earned her the name Panda, but rescuers say it is her gentle personality that makes her special. Weighing approximately 14-15kg, she is described as sweet, affectionate, and gentle.

Still a 'blank canvas'

After everything she has experienced, Panda is still something of a "blank canvas." She hasn't had the chance to discover what life can really be like outside a yard, and will need someone willing to give her patience, guidance, and plenty of reassurance as she learns.

Despite the uncertainty she has faced, Panda has continued to show her sweet nature, and rescuers believe she could blossom into a wonderful companion once she finally has a family of her own.

Public reaction

Commenting on her rehoming post, one user said: "What an adorable girl." Another added: "Gorgeous." A third user said: "Panda is gorgeous. A really lovely girl, cuddle, sweet, opened, and calm. If you adopt her, you will be very lucky."

Poor Rusty, a mixed-breed dog, made headlines earlier this month after being found living on the streets in Megara, Greece. He is believed to have suffered an injury to his eye in a roadside accident, leaving it badly damaged and requiring surgical removal. Despite everything he has been through, Rusty has remained a gentle and affectionate dog, and rescuers say his appearance doesn't stop him from being a joyful and loving boy.
