A dog that became stranded on a frozen lake in Utah has been rescued by an air boat operated by the Utah County Sheriff's Office. The animal had been trapped on the ice since 29 February, repeatedly fleeing from those who attempted to assist it.
The sheriff's office deployed the air boat after previous rescue efforts failed. During the operation, the dog fell into the water but was quickly retrieved, spending only a short time submerged.
Officials reported that the dog is recovering well following the incident. The rescue highlights the challenges of reaching animals in precarious icy conditions.
