Eleven Rescue Pets Across UK Seek Loving Homes This Global Adoption Weekend

Mars, one of the world’s leading pet food companies, is supporting shelters across the UK—including Battersea Dogs & Cats Home—to help hundreds of pets find forever homes this Global Adoption Weekend (October 3-5). With more than 139,000 cats and dogs currently in UK shelters, the initiative aims to connect people with the joy of adoption.

Among the pets in need are Cruz, a German Shepherd cross Rottweiler who has been at Leicester Animal Aid for over two and a half years, and Noodle, a sensitive Greyhound. Other animals include Duchess, a joyful Pomeranian, and Du Plessis, a friendly two-year-old tabby cat who loves cuddles.

Hercules, a sweet older domestic shorthair cat, is looking for a quiet, adult-only forever home. Bella, a French Bulldog x Belgian Malinois, is also seeking adoption through Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home. These are just eleven of the hundreds of pets hoping to find loving families.

To support new pet parents, Mars is offering adoption boxes and a three-month Calm subscription to help navigate the early days of pet parenthood. The company notes that 87% of UK owners say pets boost their well-being, emphasising that adoption can change two lives—the pet’s and the owner’s.
