A new hosepipe ban has been announced for much of south-west England, with restrictions coming into force in just hours.
South West Water has confirmed temporary restrictions will start from 12.01am on Saturday for all customers across Devon, Cornwall, parts of Dorset and Somerset, and the Isles of Scilly.
Why the ban is being introduced
The utility company said the move follows significantly below-average rainfall, prolonged dry weather and soaring demand, which have put water supplies under increasing pressure.
Much of Britain remains in the grip of dry weather, and a new heatwave is expected in just days.
