57p Vinegar Trick Transforms Wooden Tables In Minutes

Households with wooden furniture are being urged to try a simple cleaning method using a 57p item that can restore a natural shine in minutes. Interior designer Ellie Brown, from wooden furniture brand Oak&More, recommends using distilled white vinegar to cut through grease and residue that dulls the finish.

Brown advises mixing one part white vinegar with one part water, lightly dampening a soft cloth, and wiping the surface following the grain. The area should then be dried immediately with a clean cloth. For particularly flat surfaces, a small amount of oil can be added to restore sheen, but it is important to buff the surface afterwards and avoid using too much product.

According to Brown, many people mistake dullness for damage, but it is often caused by product build-up or natural factors such as sunlight, dry air, and temperature changes affecting the wood's oils. She suggests cleaning furniture thoroughly before considering replacement.
