The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued recalls for several products this week, including Waitrose oat drink and olives, Lucky Saint Hazy IPA, and two chocolate items from World of Sweets. Shoppers are being urged to check their kitchen cupboards, fridges and freezers for the affected items.
Waitrose recalls oat drink and olives
Waitrose is recalling Waitrose Essential Unsweetened Oat Drink due to the risk of microbiological contamination and spoilage. The FSA says a breakdown in temperature control may make the product unsafe to drink. The recall covers the 1 litre pack size with best before dates between 14 August and 29 October 2026, purchased between 2 September and 21 September 2026.
Waitrose is also recalling Waitrose Essential Pitted Black Olives because Listeria monocytogenes has been found in the product. Symptoms caused by Listeria can be similar to flu and include high temperature, muscle ache or pain, chills, feeling or being sick and diarrhoea. In rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications such as meningitis.
Some people are more vulnerable to Listeria infections, including those over 65 years of age, pregnant women and their unborn babies, babies less than one month old and people with weakened immune systems. The affected olives are in 120g packs with use by dates of 13 September 2026, 18 September 2026 and 27 September 2026. Customers who have bought the product should not eat it and should return it to their nearest Waitrose store for a full refund. Lucky Saint Hazy IPA recall
Lucky Saint is recalling its Hazy IPA because some cans may become over-pressurised and rupture unexpectedly. The alert was issued on 23 September 2026 and updated on 25 September 2026 with an updated point-of-sale notice. The recall covers the 0.5% Hazy IPA 4 x 330ml pack size with a best before end of 13 August 2027.
Shoppers will see notices stating: "We are recalling Lucky Saint 0.5% Hazy IPA 4 x 330ml because some cans may become over-pressurised. This can cause cans to swell, leak or rupture unexpectedly, presenting a risk of physical injury."
Shoppers can seek a refund with proof of purchase. The notice advises them to safely dispose of the cans and not to return them to the store. Further advice states: "to safely dispose of the product; handle the cans as little as possible, place them carefully, upright, in a sealed bag and dispose of them with your household waste".
World of Sweets chocolate recall
World of Sweets is recalling Dubai Style Crunchy Knafeh and Pistachio Milk Chocolate and Alyan Dubai Style Chocolate Truffles because Salmonella has been found in the products. Symptoms caused by salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps. If you are experiencing these symptoms, you should stay away from work, school or nursery until you have stopped having symptoms for at least 48 hours to avoid passing it on to others.
The affected items are Alyan Dubai Style Chocolate Truffles (product code 319456, pack size 120g, all best before dates) and Alyan Dubai Style Crunchy Knafeh and Pistachio Milk Chocolate (product code 318591, pack size 100g, all best before dates). If you have bought any of the above products, do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.
