Northumberland County Council is considering a selection of live planning applications, including a screening opinion for a proposed data centre in the south east of the county and the relocation of a listed cannon at a Morpeth pub.
Data Centre and Pub Cannon Proposals
One application seeks a screening opinion for a proposed data centre development on land at Factory Road, Cambois. Another involves The Joiners Arms on Wansbeck Street, Morpeth, where the relocation of a listed cannon and creation of public open realm are proposed.
Other Applications Under Consideration
Burton House on High Pit Road, Cramlington, has applied for an extension of its existing beer garden, along with a porch, pergola, and smoking shelter. Gran Caffé Lollo at 38 Bridge Street, Morpeth, wants to change the use of a small car parking area into outdoor seating for the cafe.
Northumbria Police's Hexham Police Station on Shaftoe Leazes seeks replacement of existing vehicle and pedestrian gates and guttering. Bedlington Christian Fellowship at Brook Court plans internal and external alterations, including modernisation of the interior with partitions and a mezzanine level.

Milfield Methodist Church has applied to install 14 solar panels on its south east facing pitched roof. King Edward VI School's Morpeth Adult Learning Centre on Cottingwood Lane would change use into a single family dwelling. Bin 21 Ltd at 50 Bridge Street, Morpeth, proposes a change of use from cafe to a tattoo art studio with a small front retail area.
12 Buteland Terrace in Newbiggin-By-The-Sea would change from a dwelling house to a residential care home for up to two children aged 5-17 with autism and associated needs. NCEA Duke's Secondary School in Ashington plans a new pathway, hardstanding play area, and replacement of its perimeter fence with a 2.4m high security fence.
Land east of 17 Walkergate, Berwick-upon-Tweed, is proposed for temporary use as a public car park for up to two years, including repairs, resurfacing, and new dropped-kerb access. Unit 1 at GP Power, Coquet Enterprise Park, Amble, would change from general industrial use to indoor sport, recreation, or fitness.
