London Braces for Wet Week Before Weekend Warm-Up to 25C
London Wet Week Then Weekend Warm-Up to 25C

London is set for a week of wet weather, with sunshine interspersed with showers and heavy rain, before temperatures climb to the mid-20s by the weekend, forecasters say.

Week Overview: Rain and Sunshine

The Met Office has predicted that a band of rain will spread east across the country on Monday, followed by scattered showers and sunny spells on Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday will see another band of rain, but conditions are expected to improve on Friday.

Temperature Outlook

During the working week, temperatures will hover around 17C to 18C. However, higher pressure building over the south by the weekend could bring warmer weather, with the potential for 24C or 25C across the South East, according to Met Office forecaster Craig Snell.

Mr Snell noted: “There are hints as we go into the weekend we may well see a slight warming up. It’s hinting at 24C for London on Saturday, at least into the low 20s, maybe mid-20s across the South East.”

He added: “After quite a bit of a changeable week with some potential cold periods, when it settles down even 24C, 25C could potentially feel markedly warmer.”

Residents and visitors alike should prepare for a mix of conditions, with umbrellas needed early in the week but lighter clothing possible by the weekend.
