Amazon Free Fire TV Upgrade Boosts World Cup Viewing

Amazon has confirmed a free Fire TV upgrade that is available today, just in time for the FIFA World Cup. The tournament kicks off on June 11, and Fire TV customers can enhance their viewing experience with live matches, highlights, and expert commentary.

Free Content and Features

Fire TV users in the UK and Germany can access free content throughout the tournament, including highlights and expert commentary. This makes it easy to catch up on any missed moments. Additionally, Amazon has integrated Alexa voice commands to help fans stay updated. Users can ask questions like, "Alexa, when is Argentina’s first FIFA World Cup match?" or "Alexa, which team has scored the most FIFA World Cup goals ever?"

Sky Real Time Upgrade

Sky has also released a free upgrade called "Real Time" for Sky Glass and Stream customers. This feature reduces latency when streaming live sports, bringing the action closer to real-time. Previously, live streams on BBC iPlayer and ITVX could be up to 40 seconds behind terrestrial feeds. Real Time is available on select live sports, including the World Cup on BBC and ITV. To activate it, users can select the Real Time option on screen or tune into dedicated channels such as BBC One HD RT (EPG 926-944) and ITV1 HD RT (EPG 945).
