Fire crews in Wales are still tackling seven wildfires, with smoke expected to affect some communities for days. South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said operations have moved onto dampening down and hotspot checks, and it remains in a "major incident response."
Locations still affected
The seven incidents are at Blaenavon, Dowlais, Llwyn-on, Cefn Golau in Tredegar, Llanynidir, Darren Park in Ferndale, and Llanwonno.
A fire service spokeswoman said: "Crews remain on scene carrying out monitoring, dampening down operations and hotspot checks.
"Most incidents are now contained and moving into a recovery phase, with reinspection activity taking place to prevent further flare-ups."

She added: "While significant progress has been made and the overall situation is becoming more stable, South Wales Fire and Rescue Service remains in a major incident response, which is under continual review.
"Smoke is expected to continue affecting some communities over the coming days as recovery operations progress.
"We thank residents for their patience and co-operation and ask people to avoid affected areas where possible. We will continue to monitor all incidents closely and provide further updates as necessary."
The service thanked residents in affected communities for their patience and co-operation. Elsewhere in Wales, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said an arson investigation had been launched after a series of deliberately set fires in Mayhill, Swansea on Sunday night.
