Households with windows in their roof are being urged to get a special type of blind that can protect against the heat, as a fresh heatwave is set to scorch the UK again this week.
Why Roof Windows Are a Problem
Many homes across the UK have been converted with Velux or Velux-style windows in the roof space to bring light and air to attics and lofts. An attic conversion or dormer is one of the most popular ways to increase home value, creating an extra bedroom or home office. However, having windows in the roof is the worst place for heat in summer sun, especially with temperatures expected to push 36C, hotter than many top European holiday hotspots, according to the Met Office.

Solution: External Blinds
