Lindisfarne Festival Bans BBQs After Wildfires Ahead of 2026 Event

Lindisfarne Festival organisers have announced a ban on BBQs, certain stoves and candles as part of new safety rules, with weeks to go until this year's event. The move follows a series of local wildfires and a very dry summer.

New Safety Measures Announced

On Wednesday, festival organisers shared an update on social media, stating: 'Pilgrims! Following a very dry summer and recent local wildfires, we have had to make some amendments to what we allow on site. This is to ensure the safety of everyone attending the festival.'

The statement listed banned items: 'BBQ's of any kind will not be allowed. Liquid or solid fuel stoves are not allowed. Camping candles or BBQ candles of any kind aren't allowed.'

Additional Restrictions and Permitted Items

The update added: 'These measures are in addition to measures already in place every year: No fire pits. No generators. Gas stoves are permitted, provided the gas canister is under 600g. Please take extra care when disposing of cigarettes to ensure they are full extinguished.'

Organisers concluded: 'Your safety comes first and we hope you understand why we have to make some adjustments this year and we thank you for your support and co-operation.'

2026 Lineup and Festival Details

The festival is set to take place at Beal Farm, near Berwick, from September 3-5. Headliners include Faithless, Razorlight and The Proclaimers.
