Inside Pretty Picture Company's Christmas Prep in June

It may only be June, but preparations for Christmas 2026 are already well underway. Full steam ahead is the motto for the team at the Pretty Picture Company in Blaydon, the largest commercial installation business for Christmas decorations. Specialising in large display installations seen across bars, restaurants, hotels, and homes throughout the North East, the company opened a shop last year where customers can now see the magic come to life.

Behind the Scenes in Summer

Despite the summer season, the team is "in the thick of it" getting organised. They are hand-making wreaths, garlands, prepping baubles, and sorting the shop for Christmas. "You name it, we've probably decorated it!" said company owner Hannah Gray, who "adores Christmas." She told ChronicleLive, "We used to make everything behind the scenes, and it was all just hidden. No one could really see all the lovely designs that we've made. So last year we opened the doors and let people come in so they could shop the look we create on Instagram."

A Glittery Affair

Gray added, "We've got baubles coming out of our ears. We keep seeing everybody's lovely photos on their summer holidays, and we're stuck in here covered in glitter for Christmas. But that's the nature of this job... these things don't just appear when it comes to Christmas. There are people working behind the scenes all year round to make sure it all comes together."
