Amanda Owen, star of Channel 5's Our Yorkshire Farm, has issued an urgent warning to fans about a scam involving fake pages claiming to be associated with her. The 46-year-old shepherdess took to Twitter to alert followers after a fan reported being asked for bank details during a supposed live chat.
Owen urged fans not to part with any money or card details, directing them to her official website, yorkshireshepherdess.com, for genuine events. She also advised checking Facebook for the verification badge to avoid fake pages.
The scam came to light when a fan tweeted: 'Hi, is all ok with your live chat? Just been asked for bank details and still couldn’t see you?' Owen replied: 'NOOOOO!!! It’s a scam. Please do NOT part with any money, card details.'
Owen described the scammers as 'terrible' and said she and her team are working to remove fake pages, but they are persistent. She emphasised that her official website is the only place for verified offers and tickets for her public speaking events.
