Twilight Pumpkins at Maindiff Court Farm near Abergavenny offers a simple, wholesome pumpkin picking day out this autumn, with entry costing £5 per car or group of five people on foot, and no booking required.
The farm features two patches of orange winter squashes, plus a few quirky varieties, set in fields that stretch out towards the mountains opposite, with beautiful views around the Abergavenny area.
Opening times and booking
Visitors do not have to book at Twilight Pumpkins, although booking is available for those who want to guarantee their visit. For 2026, the patch will be open on weekends from 10am to 4pm through October, running from Saturday, October 10 to Sunday, October 25.
The operation is smaller than many pumpkin patch farms, with owners who are always super friendly and offer a warm welcome. While many farms put on lots of activities and attractions, this location offers a more chilled pre-Halloween afternoon out in the countryside.
Maize maze and refreshments
There is also a maize maze to explore at Twilight, where visitors can get lost in the crops before or after choosing their pumpkins, with Sugarloaf mountain visible the other side of the valley. Refreshments are available to warm up after walking around the field, with the doughnut man having been present on a previous visit.

Those making a day of the area can visit The Skirrid Inn, one of Wales' oldest pubs, dating back to at least 1100. Convicts were hanged in its stairwell during its medieval past, and it is thought to be the most haunted pub in the area. Twenty minutes north of Twilight lies Llanthony Priory, a 900-year-old ruin that was one of Wales's great medieval buildings, with an inn tucked into the corner of the priory.
