A cleaning influencer has shared a simple homemade spray that she claims can help keep dust from settling on surfaces. Heather Rhodes, who posts on TikTok, demonstrated her 'dust repellent spray' to her 73,000 followers.
Recipe and method
Rhodes mixed two cups of water (approximately 475ml) with a quarter cup of vinegar (59ml), a tablespoon of olive oil, and a drop of washing-up liquid in a spray bottle. She then sprayed the solution onto a microfibre cloth and used it to wipe surfaces.
The vinegar, with its acetic acid content around 5% acidity, helps dissolve hard-water deposits and cut through grease, while the oil and soap create a coating that repels dust.
