South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture rounded off the first phase of their Summer of Sport programme with two free takeover events at East Kilbride and Hamilton.
East Kilbride Ice Rink Event
The first event took place at East Kilbride Ice Rink with plenty for families and children to enjoy. Attendees could ice skate along to a live DJ performance, enjoy face painting and arts and crafts or try their hand at podcasting.
Hamilton Palace Sports Ground Event
The second event was hosted at the Hamilton Palace Sports Ground. Football, Beat the Goalie, face painting, arts and crafts and more were on offer for free throughout the afternoon.
Attendance and Programme Impact
More than 800 people were in attendance across the two days, and both events capped off a successful Summer of Sport campaign for South Lanarkshire with a variety of free sports, family activities and coached sessions being provided to children and young people throughout the summer.
