Glasgow's Rail Yard Markets: Hidden Gem with Live Music Every Saturday
Rail Yard Markets: Glasgow's Hidden Gem with Live Music

Every Saturday, the old Kelvinbridge railway yard in Glasgow's West End transforms into a bustling farmers' market known as the Rail Yard Markets. This hidden gem features a rotating lineup of traders, live music, street food, and award-winning coffee, making it a must-visit for locals and tourists alike.

What to Expect at the Rail Yard Markets

Open from 10am to 3pm, the market brings together Scotland's farmers, growers, bakers, makers, and collectors. According to its website, it offers "fresh seasonal produce, high quality meat, the freshest bread in Glasgow, locally made food, crafts, and gifts from local artists." The market supports independent Scottish producers and items made locally with care.

Live music plays from 12pm to 2pm, adding to the vibrant atmosphere. Permanent street food trucks and an award-winning coffee vendor are also on site. Even in rainy weather, the market provides pop-up canopies with tables and chairs, and the live music continues—during a recent visit, a string band played upbeat folk tunes to keep spirits high.
