Peace Lily Blooms Non-Stop for 3 Years With 10-Minute Watering Trick
Peace Lily Blooms Non-Stop With 10-Minute Watering Trick

A peace lily owner has revealed how her plant has been in flower continuously for three years, thanks to a simple weekly watering routine. Helen Stevens shared her method on the Flower Lovers Facebook group, where she posted a photograph of her peace lily showing five vigorous white flowers.

Her caption read: "My peace lily has been non-stop blooming for three years." The post drew interest from other group members, with several asking for her secret and how she cares for the plant.

The 10-Minute Watering Method

Helen attributed her success to consistent watering, explaining: "I water the plant every week. But I water from the bottom of the pot for 10 minutes."

Peace lilies prefer soil that is continually moist without being saturated or waterlogged. Bottom watering is particularly beneficial for peace lilies because it ensures water reaches all parts of the root system.

How to Water From the Bottom

To use this method, fill the plant tray with soft or filtered water, making sure the soil comes into contact with it. The water should reach roughly halfway up the side of the pot and must never spill over.

Leave the plant sitting in the water for about 10 minutes, then check the soil to see whether it has absorbed enough water. If the soil feels moist throughout, remove any excess water from the tray. If it remains dry, add more water to the tray.

Checking Moisture Levels First

After watering, allow the plant to drain fully. However, the soil's moisture level should always be checked before watering. Insert a finger about one inch into the soil; if it feels dry at that depth, the plant is ready for a thorough watering.
