Avocado toast is a hugely popular lunch option that is simple to prepare. However, there are many ways to elevate this tasty dish. From adding feta cheese to mixing the avocado with wildflower honey, the possibilities are endless. One tip, shared by Jessica Sepel on Instagram as @jshealth, makes the avocado even creamier.
Jessica shared her hack, writing: "This breakfast is still on high rotation in the JSHealth HQ. It’s just THAT good! Brimming with satiating protein and ready in five minutes... need we say more?"
The secret ingredient is cottage cheese, which can be purchased at most supermarkets for under £2.

Avocado and Cottage Cheese Toast Recipe
Ingredients
- Two slices of sourdough bread
- Half an avocado, smashed
- 100g cottage cheese
- One teaspoon of honey
- One teaspoon of chilli flakes
Method
- Toast the bread to your liking.
- Smash the avocado with a fork and spread on the toast. Season with salt and pepper if desired.
- Spoon the cottage cheese on top, followed by the honey and chilli flakes.
- Serve immediately.
