Niko's Greek Restaurant Reopens in Morpeth After Months

There has been widespread delight from locals in Northumberland after a much loved restaurant re-opened. Niko's Greek restaurant in Morpeth, which had been closed for months and put up for sale, is now back in business, much to the joy of residents and visitors alike.

Restaurant Returns with New Name and Menu

The venue, located on Bridge Street in the heart of Morpeth, had been a staple in the town, known for its Mediterranean cuisine and warm welcome. Its future looked uncertain after a Facebook post in January announced a temporary closure until the new year, and it was listed on Businesses for Sale for £99,000. However, the doors stayed shut longer than expected, making the recent reopening a pleasant surprise.

The restaurant now operates as Niko's Mediterranean Taberna, dropping the 'Greek' from its name. Announcing the return on Instagram, staff wrote: 'Morpeth… we’ve missed you! Get ready for the authentic Mediterranean flavours you know and love, alongside exciting new additions, cocktails & unforgettable evenings.'

The restaurant's prime location in Morpeth, rated one of the best places to live in the UK, attracts both locals and tourists, ensuring a steady stream of customers eager to enjoy the updated offerings.
