Food Festival
The annual Lymington Seafood Festival puts the town on the map. Once a year, fish-loving foodies descend on the streets for delicious grub. This year marked the 10th edition, featuring chef demos, cookery schools, and plenty of tasty treats. While this year's event took place in July, foodies are expected to return for the 2027 event.
Market
Each week, a vibrant market offers sweet treats, bakes, and other goods. Originally granted a charter in the mid-13th century for farmers, traders, and merchants, the bustling market is still held on the high street, designed wide enough for stalls.
Every Saturday from 8am to 4pm, visitors can meander, buying products and tasting local flavours. A recent Tripadvisor visitor wrote: "Great market with super friendly stallholders selling loads of great products and delicious foods. Even on a wet Saturday, it was a great experience and I got some great bargains."
Pubs
Along the town's sea wall are unmatched views across the water to the Isle of Wight's cliffs. Cosy pubs include The Ship Inn, a waterfront spot with a variety of menus ideal for families. One visitor shared: "We had such a lovely time; we visited twice on our short stay in Lymington! Loved the recently refurbished restaurant and bar, with lovely food and plenty of locally sourced fish on the menu."
Another traditional pub is The Chequers, standing since the 16th century. With a country pub feel, it offers a blackboard à la carte menu that changes with the seasons, using local ingredients where possible.
