KFC has unveiled a new range of naan burgers in the UK, aiming to capitalise on nostalgia for McDonald's McChicken Korma Naan from the 1990s. The limited-edition Crispy Naan range includes two burgers: the Tandoori Zinger Crispy Naan and the Creamy Original Crispy Naan, both priced at £7.49 each or £9.49 as a meal.
New Menu Items
The Tandoori Zinger Crispy Naan features a spicy Zinger chicken fillet with tandoori sauce, tomato, red onion, lettuce, and melted cheese, sandwiched between two naan breads. The Creamy Original Crispy Naan offers a milder yoghurt and shallot sauce, described by KFC as 'creamy, tangy, fresh, and herby'.
Alongside the burgers, KFC is introducing Tandoori Loaded Fries (£3.99), combining signature spiced chips with Popcorn Chicken and both creamy yoghurt and tandoori sauces. For group dining, the Tandoori Dipping Feast (£26.99) includes 14 Original Recipe Tenders, two portions of Tandoori Loaded Fries, regular fries, sides, dips, and a large drink.
Availability and Consumer Reaction
The new items will be available nationwide from July 20 until August 23, lasting only five weeks. Ahead of the launch, consumer response has been positive. On Facebook, Kieran Manning said the 'new summer menu sounds amazing', while Deni Louise tagged a friend, exclaiming 'we need to go!'.
In 2025, TikTok food creators @TripleEats recreated the Tandoori Zinger Crispy Naan Burger, which had already launched in Germany. Their homemade version earned praise: 'That is delicious. It’s packed full of flavour and really has a kick,' @TripleEats shared, adding a plea to KFC UK to bring it officially. The chain appears to have heeded the call.
Matcha Drinks Added to Menu
KFC is also entering the matcha trend with two new drinks under its Kwench specialty range: Iced Strawberry Shortcake (£4.49) and Vanilla (£3.99). The Kwench range will become a permanent menu fixture. Competitors like Greggs and McDonald's have already launched matcha offerings, with McDonald's releasing a limited-edition Vanilla Matcha Frappé in June 2026.
Whether matcha will prove popular at KFC remains to be seen, as newer trends like hojicha, pandan, and ube are emerging. The chain's move comes as food fusion continues to dominate culinary trends, blending Indian street food with Southern comfort food.
