Former Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher and his wife Liz have shared a festive update from their 120-acre Peak District farm, revealing plans to transform it into a 'winter farm wonderland'. The couple, known for their ITV show Fletchers' Family Farm, appeared on Friday's Lorraine to discuss their Christmas preparations.
In a pre-recorded segment, Liz explained: 'Christmas is around the corner and we've got a lot to do. We have to decorate the entire farm for a magical Christmas at the farm.' Kelvin added: 'It always starts with me and Liz bringing our ideas to life, so yeah, we've got quite a busy few weeks coming up.'
The couple began by repurposing an old wooden pallet into a Christmas sign, with Kelvin painting the lettering black. He joked: 'If it's bad, I'm going to say the kids have done it!' Liz quipped: 'I don't think Meghan Markle will be getting you on her show, Kelvin.' She noted that while she is the creative one, Kelvin always wants to get involved, adding: 'When I met Kelvin, he was a proper lad's lad. Look at him now, taking painting a pallet really seriously.'
Kelvin said the sign would be key for their upcoming Christmas event, and they plan to decorate the entire farm with 'fairy lights galore and snowmen'. Liz added: 'We got a tonne to decorate and it feels like we've not even started.' Kelvin foraged for holly, while Liz created a wreath from Christmas tree stems and baubles. She reflected: 'My favourite thing about Christmas is it's the only time that you'll get your brothers, the wives, the cousins, the aunties all together.'
Fans can see more of the family in a festive special, Fletchers' Country Workshop, streaming on ITVX, where Liz showcases her upcycling and crafting skills. Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV1 at 9am.
