Katie Price has dissolved her horse-riding clothing company, KP Equestrian Ltd, as her husband Lee Andrews faces significant legal bills following his release from a Dubai prison. The former glamour model, 48, officially removed the company from the Companies House register this week, ending a brand she once hoped would have fans 'dazzling in the saddle.'
Business Struggles and Financial Setbacks
KP Equestrian, which sold riding leggings, body warmers, hoodies, and T-shirts for adults and children, was originally launched on September 3, 2008, at Holborn Studios in London. After closing in 2017, Katie relaunched the brand on December 3, 2021, but signs of trouble had been apparent for some time. The brand's Instagram account hasn't been updated in two years, its website has disappeared, and the online store that once featured ex-fiancé Carl Woods modeling the collection has vanished completely.
Financial records indicate the business struggled. The latest accounts showed KP Equestrian Ltd had just £1,000 in the bank and net assets of around £15,000, a notable drop from 2022 when the company was valued at more than £26,000.
Husband Lee Andrews' Legal Pressures
The closure comes as Lee Andrews faces his own financial challenges. After being released from Dubai's Al-Awir prison, he is reportedly battling fines and financial demands totaling between £100,000 and £120,000. However, Katie has made clear she will not pay the bill. Speaking to The Sun, she said: 'There's nothing I can do. I'm not here to pay anything for anyone. I've got my own life. Even though he's part of my life.'
A Passion Project That Failed to Shine
Katie launched the equestrian range as a passion project inspired by her lifelong love of horses, describing them as her 'happy place' on the company's website. She recalled spending her teenage years mucking out stables and learning to ride, saying, 'There's nothing quite like the feeling when you turn up to the yard' and that being around horses helped 'calm my soul.' Despite her enthusiasm and promise of stylish riding wear with 'my own sparkle added,' sales evidently did not follow.
With KP Equestrian now dissolved and no sign of revival, Katie faces another financial setback after previously owing more than £3 million. The future of her money-making ventures remains uncertain.
