Jet2.com has opened bookings for the 2027/28 winter season from Newcastle International Airport to three ski destinations in the French and Swiss Alps. Flights will operate to Chambery, Grenoble and Geneva from mid-December 2027 throughout the winter.
With more than 20,000 ski seats on sale and weekend flights available, skiers and snow sports enthusiasts can book a weekend, long weekend, or mid-week escape. The early launch allows people to plan their alpine holidays in advance.
Baggage and quotes
Passengers will receive a 10kg hand baggage allowance as well as hold luggage and ski carriage allowance, each weighing up to 22kg. Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “We enjoyed another successful ski season last winter, and with skiers and snowboarders already looking ahead to Winter 27/28, we have responded by launching our ski programme for next winter from Newcastle Airport. With perfectly timed flights at the most popular times and a range of airports to fly into, we are certain next year’s ski programme, will be our best yet.”
This announcement follows a separate report on a baggage trick at Newcastle airport for Jet2 and TUI passengers.
Richard Knight, chief operating officer at Newcastle Airport, said: “Demand for ski holidays has never been stronger, so we are delighted that Jet2.com has put more than 20,000 seats to Chambery, Geneva and Grenoble on sale early for Winter 2027/28. With direct access to the best ski resorts in the French and Swiss Alps and convenient early departure times, skiers and snowboarders can fly from Newcastle Airport in the morning and be on the slopes by lunchtime.”
Knight added that all three destinations have already seen strong bookings this year and expects that popularity to continue next winter, with passengers able to secure great-value fares and plan their winter getaways well in advance.
